Bandaje falls is located in the Charmadi ghat hill ranges,coming under Bandaje village of Belthangadi taluk of Dakshina Kannada district. It is in the vicinity of Ballalarayana Durga Fort(4 km trek) and Rani Jhari Edge Point(3 km from Ballalarayana Durga Fort).
Bandaje falls is at a distance of 10 km from Sunkasale, a well connected tiny town, located on the Mudigere-Kalasa-Horanadu road and 14 km from Somandadka, a small town located on Mangalore-Mudigere highway(NH 73).
How to Reach Bandage Falls
Since Bandaje falls is located in the highland forests, it accessed by trek. Ballarayana Durga Fort and and Rani Jhari Edge point are located up-close, all three places are visited in one go and the trek is popularly known as Ballalarayana Durga-Bandaje Falls trek.
There are two routes to do this trek.
1) Sunkasale-Durgadahalli route from Chikmagalur side.
2) Ujire-Kadirudyavara route from Dakshina Kannada side.
Sunkasale-Durgadahalli Route for Bandaje Falls Trek
Sunkasale is a tiny town, located on the Mudigere-Kalasa-Horanadu Road. It is at a distance of 33 km from Mudigere. Sunkasale is well connected by public/private transports. Durgadahalli is 3 km from Sunkasale. The Ballarayana Durga-Bandaje Falls Trek trail starts from the Shri Kalabyraveshwara Swamy temple of Durgadahalli.
Rani Jhari about 1.5 km of trek from the Durgadahalli and takes about 0.5-1 hour to reach. Ballalarayana Durga Fort is about 3 km of trek from Rani Jhari and takes about 1.5-2 hours to reach. Bandaje Falls is another 4 km trek from Ballalayana Durga and takes about 1.5-2 hours to reach.
